  • Students Arriving by Bus: -- Buses enter the driveway off of Hillendahl and deliver students between 6:55 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. The buses generally run on time, but if a bus should be late, the students riding that bus will not be counted tardy.
  • Students Walking or Biking to School: -- Walkers use the main entrance to the school, always crossing with the crossing guards. Students biking to school should bring a lock to secure their bicycles while on campus.
  • Students Arriving by Car: -- Students transported to school by car should be dropped off and picked up at Parent Drive off of Pech Road each morning and afternoon.  Be sure to arrive to the drive on time for your child to make it to class in time for the 7:30 a.m. bell.
  • Faculty and student patrols will be on duty at Parent Drive to assist students. Cones will be used to designate drop-off points. Cars should enter Parent Drive and proceed through the parking lot to the farthest available cone. Students should exit the cars quickly and on the passenger side in order to keep the line moving.
  • Congestion in Parent Drive: --To avoid the congestion in Parent Drive and prevent being tardy, please arrive as close to 7:10 a.m. as possible. Also, to help ease the congestion and traffic, parents are strongly encouraged to use the buses and form carpools. In addition, limousines are prohibited from using Parent Drive.
  • No Drop Off/Pick Up Zones: -- To keep the students safe and prevent disruption of traffic, students should not be dropped off on the streets surrounding the school, including Westview, Hillendahl, and Pech Road. Under no circumstances should the handicap parking spaces be used for drop-off or pick-up if you are not in an identified handicapped vehicle.
  • Students Arriving Late: -- There will not be staff members on duty at Parent Drive after 7:30 a.m. Students arriving after 7:30 a.m. should proceed to the office for a tardy slip before going to their classrooms.
  • Dismissal: -- For dismissal, teachers from each grade level will group the students into four categories: (1) bus riders, (2) walkers, (3) students departing through parent drive, (4) students attending an after school activity. Each group shall be escorted by a teacher to the appropriate dismissal area. No student shall be allowed to remain behind.
  • Students Departing by Bus: -- Bus riders will be taken to the Bus Drive off of Hillendahl each afternoon. Students will wait in bus lines until they are instructed to board the school buses. Students in the bus line will not be released to an adult without proof that the child has been checked out through the office.
  • Students Departing by Daycare: - - Students leaving to daycare in the afternoons will be taken to the cafeteria and wait until their daycare van arrives in the lot off of Pech Road. Teachers and staff members will be monitoring students at all times.
  • Students Walking or Biking Home: -- Students walking or biking home will be walked by staff members outside the front gate to meet their parents and retrieve their bicycles.  All walkers and bikers must walk with a staff member with the group of students. Those crossing the street must do so with the assistance of our crossing guard to ensure safety. Parents of walkers are urged to have their child walk home with a friend.
  • Students Departing Through Parent Drive: -- Students departing by car will be taken to the vestibule of the school for pick-up at Parent Drive off of Pech Road. Faculty responsible for Parent Drive will place the students in lines according to grade level. Numbered cones are used to designate pick-up spots. Parents will be directed to a cone by staff members. Parents should proceed to the designated cone to pick up their child. Parents may not pick a child up from the foyer of the cafeteria.
  • Students Meeting Parents at the End of the Day: - - Parents who wish to avoid the car rider line and meet their child/children on campus must do so at the area designated “Parent Meeting Place,” which is on the sidewalk outside of the front first grade gate.
