Ms. Ponce has been in education for a total of seventeen years.  She began her teaching career in 1999 in San Benito, Texas where she taught 1st grade for three years at La Encantada Elementary before moving to Brownsville ISD’s J.T. Canales Elementary where she taught for five years.  In 2007 she moved to Houston when she was hired at Reed Academy in Aldine ISD teaching 5th and 6th grade.  The following year she was hired as a 2nd grade teacher at Mission West Elementary with Fort Bend ISD where she remained for the next five years.

In January of 2010 Ms. Ponce began her Master’s Degree in School Counseling with the University of St. Thomas.  She graduated in December 2012 and began her career as a school counselor at Treasure Forest in August 2013. 

Ms. Ponce truly enjoys making a difference in the lives of scholars and loves being able to help scholars who are having issues or struggling. She also enjoys working with parents through the parenting classes that she had started offering this school year at Treasure Forest. 

In July of 2015 she fulfilled one of her long-time dreams and bought a house with a big backyard for her three dogs, Sasha, Ursula, and Bruno.

In her spare time, Ms. Ponce enjoys going to the movies, working on her backyard, and spending time with her family.
