PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The goal of the choral program is to develop each student's potential as far as possible with the use of music as a means of self-expression and communication. Choral students will learn vocal technique and apply its use to a wide variety of repertoire as well as sight-reading and music history as it applies to the music they perform. Students may perform as individuals, small ensembles, and as a full chorus. Through these experiences, Spring Woods Choir Students also learn the art of teamwork.

THESE GOALS CAN BE REALIZED, but only with the help and support of each parent and student. If you have any questions, feel free to call the choir office (713.251.3100) or email (scott.houston@springbranchisd.com.  We are very interested in helping each child reach his or her fullest potential. We believe in the value of music as an art, and we hope that choir will be one of the highlights of each student’s high school experience.

The choir handbook, many important forms, and the calendar can be found at:

www.CharmsOffice.com.  In the student/parent login: “SpringWoodsHSChoir”.  Student ID/Password – type your Student ID#.  Please refer to charms for financial information as well.  Mass emails are sent to the choir via charms, so be sure to update your email address.
