2017 Summer Practice Schedule


Summer Practice begins Monday June 12th at 6:15am. All Athletes must have a current physical to participate. 

We will meet Monday through Friday at 6:15am in front of the SWHS Field House for the entire month of June.

Starting July 1st and for the rest of the summer until school starts, we will meet Monday through Saturday at 6:15am. Saturday long runs will take place with alternating sites between Terry Hersey Park and Memorial Park. 

 August 21st- First Day of School. Practice will be Monday-Friday at 6:15am from this day until the end of the season.

August 26- First Meet at Kingwood HS

Tips for a successful summer


1.      BE AT EVERY PRACTICE! Arrive at practice site BEFORE practice begins. 

2.      HYDRATE!!! It is going to be hot, even with our early start times. You should be drinking one ounce of water for every pound you weigh, so if you weigh 150 pounds you should be drinking 150 ounces of water a day.

3.      Diet and sleep is especially important! DO NOT FEED YOUR BODY UNHEALTHY FOODS SUCH AS FRIED FOODS, SWEETS, AND SODA. These items and many more will damage your recovery system and delay the process. Your body needs AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep every night. Avoid going to bed after 10pm.

4.      Proper Equipment is required. You need a good pair of running shoes ($60-$100), a watch with a stop watch function, and proper running clothing.
