6th Grade Math Resource Page

We now have a page with 6th grade math resources such as notes, extra practice, reviews, and much more.  Click on above link or go to the 6th Grade Math Resource Pages.

 SOMETHING NEW!

The textbook used for this course is Texas Go Math, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.  This is an online textbook that includes resources such as additional practice, video tutorials, interactive activities, and math tools.  Homework assignments and assessments will also be assigned through the online textbook.  Each student will be given their own user name and password to access the online textbook.

EDMODO for Math!  Each class has it's own Edmodo Math page where you can find homework details, links to videos and interactive practice sites, and much more!  Parents - have your child give you the parent code and you can join, too!!

Homework

Minimize

Math Lab:  No homework will be assigned for Math Lab classes, unless a student is absent from class.  All assignments/activities will be completed during class time.

Academic and PreAP Math:  This year we are using a blended learning environment where there will be a mix of teacher led instruction and student self-learning.  Students will be required to watch videos, complete online assignments and interactive activities, as well as textbook and worksheet practice.

We will be using Edmodo and BlendSpace as our lesson forums.  All assignments and BlendSpace links will be posted in Edmodo.  Parents are encouraged to join Edmodo, using the parent code provided on your child's Edmodo page.

Homework is assigned on a daily basis.  Assignments are posted to the Events calendar below, however they are subject to change.  Please check your child's agenda for specific homework details.  Every Thursday students will have an assessment.  These assessments are generally 3 to 5 questions.  Students will be automatically retested on the same concepts the following Thursday, with students receiving the higher of the two scores.

Tutorials

Minimize

This year the 6th grade team will be hosting tutorials in the Sixth Grade Help Center, located in the school library.  Here students can receive help with math, science, social studies, and language arts.  The Help Center is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:35-4:20 pm.  A late bus is available for those who ride the bus home.

I will also have tutorials Thursday mornings from 7:45-8:20 am in my classroom, I 102.
