I have a Master of Science in Occupational Technology with a major in Training and Development - University of Houston, a Master of Education - Sam Houston State University - Hunstville, Tx. and a Bachelor of Music Education, also from Sam Houston State University.

I am active in my 120-voice church choir, which traveled to Germany during the summer of 2015 to sing on tour throughout the country. I sing in a community choir which performs for senior citizens in assisted living and nursing home facilities. I taught private piano lessons for 25 years.

Martha Knotts

I am excited to be working at Spring Branch Middle School! I've loved working here since 2012.

I will be providing support as an In Class Support Teacher in 6th Grade Language Arts and 6th Grade Social Studies this year. I am available to answer questions and provide extra assistance to students every day in the classes in which I am scheduled.

I have been teaching since 1997 and in Spring Branch ISD since 2005. I have taught Language Arts and Math as a Resource teacher in Elementary schools prior to coming to SBMS. At SBMS, I have taught 6th and 7th Grade Language Arts Resource, Co-Taught 6th & 7th Grade Language Arts  and Co-taught in 7th Grade Texas History.

Education: I earned two Masters degrees: Master of Science in Occupational Technology in Training and Development from the University Of Houston, and  Master of Education as well as a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Sam Houston State University - Huntsville, Tx.

Favorite Past time: I love music, (and was on a piano scholarship for my Bachelor's degree). I am very active in my church choir and have toured Spain, Portugal, Germany, and the Northeastern United States. My choir will be the featured choir at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Labor Day of this year. I also sing in a community choir, performing at senior citizen and assisted living centers. In addition to teaching academic subjects, I have Music in Elementary School as well as Middle & High School Choir. I have taught private piano lessons for many years - teaching Suzuki Piano methodology.

My immediate "family" is made up of my two precious kitties, Festus and Carrie Underwood.

Knotts Tutorials - Thursdays - room 307 - 3:35 - 4:15 p.m.

This time is designated to help students on a more individualized level to address such needs as; getting help with class work, making up missed assignments due to absence, preparing for tests, or taking a re-test. Students planning to stay for tutorials should have made arrangements for parent pick up no later than 4:20 p.m. or have made plans in advance to ride a late bus (limited routes to specific drop off locations).
