Parents are invited to utilize the resources in the Rummel Creek Library Learning Commons.   Parents may check out books during school hours - we have an extensive Parent Library with books to support parents.  Parent Volunteers are welcome in the RCE Library Learning Commons, contact the library if you would like to volunteer.

E-Books @ RCE

Rummel Creek is moving to the digital age with e-books for all students.  Our Destiny Quest Catalog provides access to most of the titles.  We use the following apps at RCE:  Destiny Quest, Brytewave K-12, Overdrive, and Esebco.  All of the apps are available for free.  Many of our books are for multiusers simultaneously.  If you need assistance...please drop by the library.

We Give Books is sponsored by Penguin books with access to more e-books for children.  Create an account and enjoy for FREE!

Drop by the Library Learning Commons, watch for parent "Lunch 'n Learns" or other trainings to help you get your child reading!

Using the Internet and Devices @ RCE

Rummel Creek is a BYOD school, students may bring in their own devices.  Even on personal devices, students must follow school and district guidelines. A great resource at school and at home for using technology is Common Sense Media.  Common Sense Media provides reviews and helpful tips to encourage proper use of the internet and devices.

Rummel Creek Symbaloo - provides direct links to sites we use at RCE, each grade level has a specific symbaloo to support curriculum.  Check the Create! link to web 2.0 tools to create projects for school.  If you need help using Symbaloo or trying any of the Web 2.0 tools....drop by the library!

The RCE Library is staffed by Karen Harrell and Kerry Latiolais.  Karen is a certified librarian and classroom teacher with more than 35 years of experience working in libraries and classrooms, 26 at RCE.  Karen has been fortunate to design two libraries while on the Rummel Creek Campus.  Kerry is our wonderful support staff encouraging students to try new things.  Our goal in the library is to encourage students to read and become owners of their learning.  The MakerSpaces and ThinkerSpaces in the Library Learning Commons are designed to create a love of learning with the students.
