Special Education’s Exciting New Reading Program
(Leveled Literacy Intervention) enters its Second Year

Special Education department at PSE has an exciting new literacy program called or LLI for Special Ed students who have pull out Language Arts support. This program was started during the 2009-2010 school year. The students receiving reading instruction using the program not only made amazing progress in their reading levels, along with notable accomplishments in their reading comprehension and fluency.
Students may bring home their very own copy of a “Take Home Book”, which they should be reading at home each day. If they do, they should bring their books back to school and have their own personal library of books to read in their classroom during independent reading time.
Parents, listen to your child read every day and talk to them about the books they are reading. Parent letters in both English and Spanish are sent home daily with questions you can ask your child and suggested activities you can do with your child.
If your child reads every day at home along with the instruction they are receiving at school, your child will soar to new heights in their ability to read and comprehend! With parents becoming part of the three-way partnership with your child and the LLI Resource teacher, this exciting program will increase your child’s ability to read, which is the key to their academic success! Become an active participant in that goal today!
