Diane Barrera Nurse

Hello, my name is Diane Barrera. I have been the school nurse at Panda Path for 6 years and truly enjoy teaching the children healthy habits.

I would like to take this opportunity to inform our new families of policies of when your child is ill or taking medicine. Our school policy states hat you should not send your child to school if he/she has:

  1. Fever in the past 24 hours
  2. Vomiting in the past 24 hours
  3. Diarrhea in the past 24 hours
  4. Chills
  5. Sore throat
  6. StrepThroat (must have been taking an antibiotic for at least 24 hours before returning to school)
  7. Bad cold, with a very runny nose or bad cough, especially if it has kept the child awake at night

Medication administration is an important issue in schools. If your child requires medication at school, please talk to the nurse before sending any medication.

The above guidelines are meant to serve the best interests of all the children in our programs. If you have any questions or concerns of any kind, please do not hesitate to call me.
