About Me

I have taught math in Spring Branch ISD for 10 years, and this is my sixth year at MMS. I had taught Algebra and Geometry at the high school level before coming to MMS, and I enjoy teaching all areas of mathematics.  I hope to instill in your children a love of math, so they will leave my class poised, confident, and independent learners, loving math and wanting to learn more.

Please feel free to contact me at anytime.

Things to do to be successful in Algebra Class:

#1 Be patient: learning takes time and a large eraser.

#2 Complete all questions and assignments: THIS TAKES TIME! You’re destined to be successful, but you will need to put in the work for the success! You learn the most from correcting your own mistakes and this is done by completing homework first and then checking to see if you were right. This is true in life and in math! Assignments help to reinforce “correct” memorization of patterns that help in learning new concepts…challenge yourself!

#3 Look ahead to see what we will discuss:  Look at the calendar to see what sections we will cover and read ahead…it will be worth the 10 minutes.  Also check my favorite website, Khan Academy, and search topics, and watch the 5-10 minute videos to understand information that we covered or will cover.  Hearing something twice or in a different way is a very helpful.

#4 Ask questions: before class, during class, after class, or during tutorials… don’t be afraid to learn!

#5 Learn the vocabulary!  Math is math, but it requires learning the language of mathematicians and scientists.
