About Me

This year I will be teaching Spanish I and II.

I grew up in the Houston area and started learning Spanish in the 9th grade. I took four years of Spanish in high school and then continued Spanish in college. One of my best learning experiences was when I had the privilege of studying abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico.

I feel that learning Spanish is invaluable, especially here in Texas.  I hope to inspire my students to continue in the language and become bilingual to increase their marketability in the work place as well as to open doors for communication.

Important Information

Course Description

The Level I language course focuses on the development of communicative competence in the target language and understanding of the culture(s) of the people who speak the language. The major means of communication between students and instructors will be in the target language.   Through consistent and comprehensible exposure to grammatically-correct language, students develop an "ear" for language. By allowing students to proceed with natural language acquisition, fluency is promoted.  The focus will be on the four areas of language: reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Supplies: Composition Notebook, pencils, black and red pen, highlighter, glue sticks, colored pencils/markers.
