Parental Involvement Policy
Housman Elementary School, a Title I school, recognizes that parent and community involvement are necessary to improve the level of student achievement and success. A school-parent compact will be written or reviewed together that describes the responsibilities of all parties. To foster the growth of this partnership between the school, students, parents, and community, communication is essential and information will be provided in a timely fashion through flyers, newsletters, meetings, and parent-teacher conferences. An annual meeting will be held in the fall to describe and explain the curriculum used at the school. the forms of testing in place, and the proficiency level that students are expected to meet. We will encourage parents and community involvement in the planning, reviewing, and improving of all school programs through participation in CIT (Campus Improvement Team) and parent-community meetings.
