Classes start week of September 6 through November 17 for a total of 10 to 11 weeks. (Tuition Fee as well as REGISTRATION FEES are to be paid for All classes; Dance classes, On-Line classes and In-room Classes) $15 for SBISD Residents or $20 for non-SBISD residents.

DANCE Registration will be held on Saturday, September 10th from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon behind Spring Forest Middle School (14240 Memorial, 77079) in Temporary Bldg. # 7 (T-7). You may register on-line at: http://communityed.springbranchisd.com OR during 1st week of class with your teacher.

SBISD community education offers variety of fun classes

Spring Branch ISD Community Education has been providing adult continuing education since the 1960’s when it started at Spring Woods High School. The original class offerings were mostly languages and dance or exercise.
Classes moved to Memorial High in the 70’s where they added ESL classes.
Westchester High School became their home in the 80’s when they added motorcycle training classes and picked up driver’s education classes when it was removed from the schools.
The program eventually moved to Spring Branch Education Center where they currently reside until the building gets a makeover. (See SBISD moving forward with SBEC plan, published July 10, 2014).
Many of the classes are held at other campuses throughout the district.
Over the years, the classes offered have changed with the times. Where they once offered typing, calligraphy, shorthand and jewelry making, they now offer a plethora of classes. Today’s options include arts & crafts, cake decorating, computer (beginner Photoshop, Microsoft Office and genealogy), drama, finance, GED, languages, lots of online courses (even some high school courses to earn or recover credits), self improvement, driver’s education and dance (ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, flamenco, belly dancing, hoop, Zumba, Salsa, Country & Western, ballroom, Swing, yoga and drill team prep).
Although most of the classes are for adults or teenagers, the dance classes accept all ages from 3-years-old on up. There is literally something for everyone.
