Many of you have heard of the potential for a foodborne illness as a result of the consumption of romaine lettuce in the media in recent days.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has NOT issued any recall at this time and there have been no reported cases in Texas that are linked to romaine.

However, out of an abundance of caution, we're suspending the use of romaine for the time being.  The health and safety of every one of our students is of the highest priority to everyone in the Child Nutrition Services Department and we're going to do all we can to ensure everyone's safety.

If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact me.
