Cedar Brook Learning Commons

Our library/learning commons is the physical center of the school and is staffed by one certified full-time librarian. There are three learning areas within the learning commons—storytelling, large group presentation and table area and a technology area. Classes are scheduled on a block schedule six day rotation for storytelling or mini-lessons, but the learning commons is also open for small groups, individuals, and parents to come in for research, computer time, or to check in/out books anytime during the school day. The library/learning commons offers nine computer reference stations with various resources including Internet access. An online catalog, accessible via the Internet, guides the students, teachers, and parents to over 15,000 books and audiovisual items. Parents interested in volunteering to help in the learning commons are invited to contact the librarian at 713-251-5500.

Students should login to our Destiny Campus (link on the right) to search for books, ebooks, other materials and use databases.

SBISD is dedicated to protecting the creative rights of all and therefore follow correct copyright rules.  Not sure what those are?  Watch this video on Copyright.
