Parent Connections

Parent Center
As partners in learning, we thrive in a joyful environment where all feel welcomed, safe, respected, and challenged. All of our families bring diverse and rich cultures and strengths. All of our students have a unique pattern and timing for growth and development. Together, we set the stage for life-long learning by helping our students to discover their strengths, to achieve, and to excel.

The following three concepts of parent involvement are critical to your child’s short and long term educational success:
  1. Strive for school attendance every day – ensure regular school attendance – this life skill begins in Prekindergarten.

  2. Expect that your child will make progress every year – monitor their development and support growth.

  3. Reinforce your child’s attainment over time – set high expectations for your child to achieve from year to year throughout their school career.

Activities for parent and family involvement occur throughout the year. Please see our calendar and plan to join us.

Reading is Child’s Play at Bear Blvd
Bear Blvd received a grant from the Spring Branch Education Foundation: Reading is Child’s Play. It will be used to support Bear Blvd Parent Center’s efforts to integrate book-making and shared reading strategies that make reading fun for both parents and children. Using RealeWriter software and digital cameras parents will create and publish books with their children as the star characters, thus personalizing the early literacy experiences. Parents can choose to attend workshops in English, Spanish, or Vietnamese. Empowering parents to become the most vital supporters of their child’s education is the goal as Bear Blvd celebrates the cultures and languages of our families.
