Immunization Requirements in the State of Texas

All students, including preK and kindergarten students, should receive age-appropriate health immunizations. Immunization requirements are set by the Texas Department of State and Health Services and are subject to change on an annual basis.

To allow for changes in immunization requirements, please contact your pediatrician or the school nurse at your neighborhood campus.

For this event, families must bring their child’s shot records or a request from the school nurse. Free school supplies will be distributed and adult health screenings conducted during this annual event. Call the center at 713-996-8781 or visit for details.

Free Immunization Qualifying Criteria

Children must be 18 years or under, have Medicaid, be uninsured, or have insurance that does not cover 100 percent for vaccines, or be Native American or Alaskan Indian.  The child must bring shot records with him/her.

Houston Care Van

Community Outreach Program providing Free Immunizations for eligible children two months through 18 years of age*.

*Your child is eligible if he/she has no insurance, has insurance that does not cover vaccine, has Medicaid, or is
American Indian/Native American or Alaskan Native.

Reduced-Cost Vaccinations & Immunizations

Low cost vaccinations may be obtained at the following locations:

Vaccine cost is $10 each for children up to 18 years old.
