PreKindergarten at Valley Oaks for
NEXT SCHOOL YEAR 2009-2010
Do you have a child who will be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2009? If so, you need to get on the list for PreK at Valley Oaks.
How do you do that?
1. January 6-29 Parents sign up for lottery. We have two PK classes at Valley Oaks for 22 students each. If we have more than 44 students sign up to come to PK at Valley Oaks we will have a lottery drawing. If the prospective PK student has a sibling at Valley Oaks and is not a transfer student, s/he is automatically on the list to be in the class. All others will participate in the lottery drawing.
2. January 30 Lottery drawing at 3:00 in the front office.
3. February 2-27 Notification to those on list and to lottery winners to complete the preregistration process. $50 deposit is required unless the child qualifies for tuition assisted PK***
4. February 2-27 Preregistration of children at Schools for Early Learning
5. February 27 Parents of children on waiting list contacted for preregistration
6. March 1-30 Parents of children on waiting list preregister
All parents must come to registration which begins in mid-August.
***Full day PreK is from 7:30-2:30 at VOE. It is tuition based unless the child is eligible for tuition assisted PreK.
Eligibility criteria for tuition assisted PK:
1. Limited English Proficiency
2. Qualifies due to Income
3. Homeless
4. Parent on active military duty or killed or injured while on military duty
5. Children Protective Services Custody
