Frostwood Library is welcoming a special guest for the month of October. We have our own pet hamster, named Humphrey.  Humphrey will be here for all of the reading adventures that take place in October in the Frostwood Library.  At the end of the month, Humphrey will become part of one of the Frostwood's family homes. In order to find a home for Humphrey, we are having a writing contest for grades 2-5.  To participate, students need to write a story concerning some imaginative adventures Humphrey has in the Frostwood Library. This will be totally fictional, as Betty Birney has done with her novel series of Surprises According to Humphrey.  Remember to use "voice" in your writing.  A panel of judges will read and decide on the most creative story. The winner will get to take Humphrey home as their own pet, with parent permission of course.  Every story submitted must have a parent signature giving permission to take Humphrey home if he/she wins the contest.  Deadline for story is October 30.
