Recently the fall Student Council representatives met to determine the projects for the school year.  The council has decided to continue to sponsor paper recycling throughout the year.  The council members support the custodial staff by collecting the recycled paper from around the school every Friday afternoon.

The council voted to sponsor a pull tab collection project that supports the efforts of the Ronald McDonald House.  Council members worked after school on a Friday to label baggies to use for collecting pull tabs in each class, wrote scripts for the morning announcements and created posters to advertise the project.  Project Manager Jacob Lackey stated, “Everyone is really excited about helping people and having fun at the same time.”  This holiday season the council will sponsor a canned food drive.  Other projects include “Pennies for Peace” and the annual Car Wash in which proceeds benefit our Sister School, Housman Elementary.
