Three of Frostwood Elementary’s 5th grade students were recognized by the Memorial Villages Police Department at this mornings school assembly for 4th and 5th graders.

Lexie Brennan-Martin, Katie Titus and Sophie Shaffer each received a framed plaque proclaiming “Good Citizenship Award” and a Memorial Villages police badge presented by Chief of Police Gary Brye, Sergeant Jody “OJ” Johnson and Officer Oscar Miller of the Memorial Villages Police Department.

The three young ladies found a briefcase on the Frostwood campus as preparations were under way for our International Festival.  The girls reported their finding to Office Oscar Miller of the Memorial Villages Police Department and as a result the briefcase was eventually returned to its owner.

The briefcase was originally stolen from a retired Federal Judge’s vehicle as he was shopping at Memorial and Benignus. It contained personal financial information and check books.  The owner was very pleased to have his briefcase returned and wrote each girl a thank you letter.

Frostwood Elementary Principal Jan Griffin stated, “We are very proud of the actions of these very responsible 5th grade girls and applaud their use of many of the Life Skills we implement at Frostwood.”
