The ACTIVclassroom incorporates the entire teaching process. Teachers deliver instruction interactively using the web, videos, voting, activities, games, and other resources to capture and engage students' minds. Student knowledge is assessed throughout each lesson using the votes.

The formative assessment and polling allow teachers to define the path of instruction and improve student understanding. Curriculum flipcharts are created and aligned using various lesson development and curriculum tools aligned to state standards. Through the spirit of collaboration, Spring Branch teachers generate and reinforce new teaching concepts.

The SBISD Flipchart Repository was created by the Educational Technology Department in order to provide a venue for Spring Branch ACTIVclassroom teachers so they might share and collaborate on curriculum using flipcharts. Each flipchart that is uploaded to the repository is an original flipchart created by a Spring Branch ACTIVclassroom teacher. Flipcharts may be downloaded by any Spring Branch ACTIVclassroom teacher and may be used as is, or edited and adapted to meet the needs of their own curriculum.

During the summer of 2007, seven teachers were the core flipchart writers. However, all Spring Branch ACTIVclassroom teachers are encouraged to upload their original flipcharts to the repository and share their great work with other SBISD teachers.
