WELCOME TO FRENCH 1A (7TH GRADE) - BIENVENUE DANS LA CLASSE DE FRANCAIS 1A (7IEME ANNEE)

In French 1A, we will concentrate on learning basic French words and expressions, and beginning grammar.  We will cover the following topics to build vocabulary: greetings and how to introduce oneself and others, colors and numbers, talking about your family, telling time, the calendar and the seasons, the weather, clothing, shopping. In grammar we will focus on: conjugating the verbs to have, to be, to go and to do, conjugating regular -ER verbs, agreement of adjectives with the gender and the number of the noun it describes, subject pronouns, possessive pronouns, definite and indefinite articles.  We will also talk about French culture, geography and history and make connections with what is taught in Social Studies to show the importance and influance of France in the way America was shaped.

We are using some very exciting new online state-of-the-art speech recognition language program that will help the students to master the French language in a fun and interactive way. Students will use this online program every other day.  The student is also able to log onto this website (www.tellmemoreeducation.com) at home.

If you have any questions, students and their parents should feel free to e-mail me or students can ask for advice/help in class.  Thanks.
