GRADING INFO

When looking at the gradebook on Parent Portal, please note the following codes. In the event you see a task listed with a BLANK box for the grade is it NOT a zero. It will be assigned one of the following codes below.

OMIT - This is an excused task due to various reasons (student out for an in-class discussion, etc.). It has NO weight toward the student's grade average and does not need to be made up.

SICK - This is an excused task due to being absent. The student will have to make this up according to the district make-up work policy (see our syllabus).

GRADING - The assignment has been collected and is being graded.

MISSING - The assignment was collected for a grade, but student has NOT turned it in. It is counted as a 50 (F). According to our syllabus, after 3 days, the grade of a 50 will remain even though the work must be completed.  This is comparable to receiving a 0 on an assignment.

CLASSWORK - The practice assignment has been reviewed for completion only & is NOT  graded. It has NO weight toward the student's grade average, but does show whether a student is doing the practice work assigned.

NHI - The practice assignment  is NOT graded, but student has NOT turned it in or did not show work, or turned in incomplete. It has NO weight toward the student's grade average, but does show whether a student is doing the practice work assigned.
