Language Arts Homework

Students should be reading each night from their assigned novel, either Gathering Blue or The Giver.
Work on novel analysis in your literacy notebook.
Search for evidence of your theme throughout the novel.
Don't forget your home reading.... Think LONE STAR!!!!

Fitness Gram Testing

Fitness Gram Testing will be held on our early dismissal day, Wednesday, November 16th. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing and shoes for physical activity.

Weekly Objectives

Week of November 16^th

Monday:

Students will solve History’s Mystery #2. Students will be shown a short video to Early Texas history and complete the guided notes in order to introduce and identify factors in the settlement and annexation of Texas.
Students will work on A Christmas Carol menu assignment. Please find the assignment on A Scoop of Words.

Tuesday:

Students will be given access to internet resources research and recognize factors of Texas settlement and rising tensions with Spain and Mexico, and then apply their knowledge through the creation of a ‘datahead’ trivia game.

Wednesday:

Fitness Gram Testing

Thursday:

Students will be given access to print and technology resources to research assigned Texas Revolution battles in order to analyze the factors contributing to a Texas victory and develop written editorials to contribute to a group newspaper.

Friday:

Students will be provided primary resources to identify and interpret the arguments for and against Texas Annexation, select a side, and create their own debate arguments to defend their viewpoint in a class-wide mock debate.
