FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS THIS COMING MONDAY, AUGUST 25TH.
All Cornerstone students should go to the auditorium on the first day of school. Homeroom teachers will gather their students there for first day activities.
Sixth graders: prepare yourself for the wildest first day of school you have EVER seen. It is the "Cornerstone way" of starting school.

Regular schedule begins

Composition scoring chart discussion
Students will then write a paragraph answering the question: "What is a typical CSA student like?" Students will then exchange papers and practice scoring each other's paragraphs using the scoring chart.
Thursday, August 28th:
Students will be given a copy of the 14 Punctuation Marks for their binders. Students will read each example sentence and will write another sample sentence using the same punctuation mark.
Friday, August 29th:
Students will observe and discuss the "Top Ten Terrible Traps For Compositions" from Mr. Plunkett's web page. Once that is done, students will be given a sample composition. Students will work together in teams to identify as many of the Terrible Traps as they can find in the composition. Students will also suggest improvements to the same sample composition.
