Special Announcements

“This year marks the 5th anniversary of passage of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.   In the past 5 years we’ve seen some rather dramatic changes to the menus that the students of SBISD are offered including lower fat entrees and a variety of daily fresh fruit and vegetable options.   There are more changes still to come: even lower sodium levels, more whole grain items, and changes in the availability of other food items.   We’ve begun testing salad bars, more “from scratch” cooking, and ways to make the meals we offer even more enticing and – as always - we strive every single day to offer the most cost effective, nutritional, and safe food we can….and promise to continue to do so.   If you ever have any questions, please contact the me in the CNS Office.”
