Wilchester Elementary fifth-grader Sarah Kate Elliott asked friends to donate school supplies to others in need rather than give her birthday gifts. Students at several Spring Branch ISD campuses will now share in her bounty.
After she observed a need for school supplies in SBISD, Sarah asked her friends to bring school supplies rather than gifts to her birthday party in September. Communities in School representatives later shared the school supplies that Sarah received with students at five elementary schools, one prekindergarten center and one high school.
SBISD’s Pat Waldrop, director of guidance and counseling services, helped direct student donations. For details on how you can help others, call the department at 713-251-2460 or contact SBISD Community Relations at 713-251-2286.
