More than 20 high school students with the Architectural Design program at The Guthrie Center volunteered for a third year with the Rebuilding Houston Together program. Sonia Greiner leads this award-winning student design program.
Student volunteers worked with the Houston chapter of AIA Young Architects and Weston Solutions, which is one of the design program’s team of advisors.
AIA provides mentoring for young adults interested in careers in architecture. It also funds scholarship opportunities through the annual Michael G. Meyers High School Design Competition. Students in the design program at The Guthrie Center have won significant college awards through this competition.
Weston Solutions delivers integrated, sustainable solutions for environmental restoration, property redevelopment, design/build construction, so-called “green” buildings and clean energy. For more information on The Guthrie Center, please visit the campus website.
