Spring Shadows Elementary got a makeover last weekend. Keep Houston Beautiful and volunteers with several Houston-area businesses helped re-landscape the front entrance of the school, 9725 Kempwood, on Oct. 20.
Supplying volunteers were Beneficial HSBC North and South Divisions, Republic Services, Embark Tree and Landscape Services, and Marathon Oil. The groups were joined by teachers and parents as well as volunteers from Cypress Ridge High School’s National Honor Society for the daylong re-landscaping effort.
To help with the project, HSBC donated $2,000 in financial support for landscaping materials. “I can’t think of a better way to welcome children and parents to school than to have a beautifully landscaped front door,” said Spring Shadows Elementary Principal Cathie Erickson. “I thank all of the volunteers for enhancing the appearance of our school. Our community really likes it!”
