Childress Foundation Academy News

On Saturday, Oct. 17, students and adults involved with the Childress Foundation Academy at Northbrook High School will scrape, replace siding, caulk, paint and perform yard work at the small home of an 86-year-old woman with an annual income of $13,000.

On the same day, other students with this group will work outdoors with the Old Spring Branch Civic Association. Earlier, on Oct. 3, 15 Academy students fixed lunch for residents at the Turning Point Center Homeless Mission. On Oct. 2, students return to the Ronald McDonald House to prepare and serve dinner to families. Northbrook High’s Donald Miller coordinates the service-minded program.
