Stratford High Link Crew joins students together
“You get what you give.” This powerful quote is not only true, but guides Stratford Highs new approach to Freshmen Orientation. In coordination with the national Boomerang Project, Stratford High has started their new program called “Link Crew,” which assigns juniors and seniors to a group of freshmen at orientation. Together, each group leader helps the freshmen get comfortable with their new school through small sessions. The group leaders also help them get comfortable with each other. Co-sponsor and teacher Julie Abrahams said that it was one of the most amazing things she had ever been involved with at Stratford and that she, “truly believed in the Link Crew program. We had great results and have heard so many stories about how orientation this year impacted the freshman.”

But it doesn’t stop at orientation. Link Crew members meet several times through out the year to discuss problems that freshmen might be having and solutions to those problems. Ultimately the main goal of the program is to increase freshman success.
