Thirty-one students at Memorial High School were named Commended Students recently by the National Merit Scholarship Program. In September, about 34,000 of an estimated 50,000 top national scorers on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) were recognized as Commended Students with outstanding academic promise.
Named as Commended Students this year at Memorial High are Ryan Berney, Bennett Brown, Anna Cosnahan, Stephen Farver, Samuel Glidden, Nicole Goodman, Austen Harris, Natalie Harrison, Margaret Hays, Molly Hicks, Gray Jodon, Leelund Kim, William Mcholick, Kelly Ostrofsky and Katrina Peifer.
Also named as Commended Students are Jeremy Rathjen, Vina Ravichandran, James Rockwell, Scott Schuelke, Emily Schwabenland, Matthew Silva, Fay Stephens, Ashley Sunderhaft, Kaleb Underwood, Thi Vo, Karim Wahab, Joseph Wilkerson, Darrell Williams, Stephen Wise, Lee Wright and Rose Xue.
The College Board recognized 24 Memorial High students recently as National Merit Semifinalists. They are eligible for a variety of program scholarships. (9-27-07)
