The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has announced that it is increasing most of its scholarship awards from $12,000 to $15,000. This year’s awards by the nonprofit group will go to 534 graduating seniors who qualify through the application process and attend college in Texas.
The upcoming Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will be held March 3-22. Rodeo leaders hope to distribute more than $8 million in scholarships, up from $6.4 million this year. Applications for the rodeo’s Metropolitan and Opportunity scholarships will be available to students and families beginning Oct. 1. For details, visit the show’s website at www.rodeohouston.com.
