The Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition (TECEC) recently featured Spring Branch ISD in its “Talk of Texas” series, which highlights excellence in early childhood education throughout Texas.
TECEC chose to showcase Spring Branch in part because of the district’s extensive prekindergarten program for four year olds, which operates from five specially designed Schools for Early Learning. SBISD was one of the first districts in the nation to offer a district wide full-day prekindergarten program led by certified teachers.
“Spring Branch is committed to providing quality early education to its children by developing uniquely designed Early Learning Centers, collaborating with local entities, and continuing to offer full-day pre-k classes in 15 of its elementary schools,” the TECEC website states.
The website focuses on SBISD’s efforts in dealing with a diverse student population through its early dual language program, the high caliber of the district’s educators, and the dedication of the partnership between the district, local businesses, students, teachers and parents.
