The Spring Branch Educational Support Association (SBESA) awarded four separate $700 scholarships and installed its new 2008-2009 officers during the group’s annual Installation Meeting held May 14 at the Spring Branch ISD Administration Building.
Student scholarship winners are seniors Jessica Park of Spring Branch School of Choice, Amanda Kvinta of Memorial High, Juan Alatorre of Northbrook High and Courtney Gauthier of Stratford High. SBESA’s outgoing president, Maria Campos, and Scholarship Chair Laura Escobedo posed with students for a group photograph. Scholarship funds are raised through the group’s live and silent auctions, which are held during the annual Bosses’ Night celebration.
The association’s incoming Board includes Maria Campos, immediate past president; Pat Schulz, parliamentarian; Sandy Hanks, secretary; Laura Escobedo, treasurer; Carmen Lopez, president elect; Syble Coleman, vice president; and Jeanine Presswood, president. Outgoing SBESA members are Vicki Kaiser, hospitality; Carlton Sands, Boss of the Year chair; Jan Lampart, professional growth chair; Maria Campos, president; Belinda Warren, past president; Pat Schultz, parliamentarian; and Laura Escobedo, treasurer. SBESA member Jan Lampart organized the May installation event.
