Texas Education Agency honors three schools
Three Spring Branch ISD campuses have been recognized along with 131 other schools as Texas Distinguished Performance Schools by the Texas Education Agency’s division of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Program Coordination.

Principals from Cedar Brook and Treasure Forest elementary schools and Cornerstone Academy, a district charter middle school, will be honored May 2 at the Region IV Service Center in Houston for outstanding academic performance. Cedar Brook Elementary’s principal is Veleta Madsen; Principals at Treasure Forest Elementary and Cornerstone Academy are, respectively, Imelda de la Guardia and Jill Wright.

To earn recognition, the schools had to meet Annual Yearly Progress standards in 2006 and 2007; earn TEA Exemplary status last spring; achieve either TEA Exemplary or Recognized status in spring 2006; and achieve either TEA Exemplary or Recognized status during spring 2005.
