Student groups focus on crisis in Uganda

The Invisible Children Foundation will visit Memorial High School on Monday, March 24, to educate students and the public about the horrors that children in Uganda face due to national crises, including political corruption and crime in this African nation.

Sponsored by the Memorial High Student Council and the Jewish Community Center’s CHAT student group, the groups will meet with social studies classes and then host a screening of the film Invisible Children at 7 p.m. March 24. The film will be followed by a public forum. Memorial High is located at 935 Echo Lane.

A similar screening and public forum was held recently at Stratford High School. The documentary film highlights the tragic lives of Uganda’s so-called night commuters and child soldiers. Invisible Children Inc. has now shown the film to millions of people and addresses the follow-up question, “How can I help?” For details, please call Max Rosen at 713-818-9893 or Pam Rosen at 713-932-1100.
