Northbrook High students help clean up Old Spring Branch
Northbrook High School students enrolled in the Childress Foundation Academy joined several teachers and members of the Old Spring Branch Civic Association on Saturday, Feb. 23, to help the association in its quarterly cleanup project. The 40 high school students and three teachers marked the largest group ever for the association cleanup. The neighborhood is near Treasure Forest Elementary School, 7635 Amelia Road, and is located between Wirt and Antoine and Hammerly and Long Point roads.

Through the Childress Foundation Academy’s many volunteer service projects, Northbrook High students reach out to help others across the region. So far, students enrolled in this noteworthy service and scholarship organization have gone bowling with elementary students, repaired the house and cleaned up the yard of an elderly couple in southeast Houston, and prepared a meal for a group in the Ronald McDonald House in the Texas Medical Center. This well-known academy is directed by Donald Miller, who was named last year’s SBISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.
