Stratford High quarterback Andrew Luck has been chosen to represent Spring Branch ISD in the first annual SpaceCity Classic, which was created to bring together the best high school football players from Houston and the surrounding region. Unlike many major cities, Houston has no citywide all-star football game that brings together the best football players from all divisions. The SpaceCity Classic will be played Saturday, March 8, at the University of Houston’s Robertson Stadium.
“Everything in Texas is huge, and high school football is no exception. We will celebrate the most talented teens and send them off to their collegiate careers in true Texas style,” said SpaceCity Classic Executive Director Karton Zawolo. On Friday nights across Houston, high school football rivals professional sports in attendance with an average of 10,000 fans, the group reports. Andrew Luck, a senior, has announced that he will attend Stanford University next year.
