Two Memorial High students are among 17 young people from Houston-area schools who have been named winners in the Society for the Performing Arts’ Wells Fargo Student Visual Art Contest.
Memorial High senior Kimberly Chang’s work was named contest Best of Show. Senior Emily Cloninger won first place in the 12th grade category. The contest’s theme was “Reflections of Heritage: Pride in the Past; Hope for the Future.”
The works of Chang, Cloninger and other student winners will be displayed during the SPA’s presentation of The African Children’s Choir at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24, in the Wortham Center. For tickets or more information, please call 713-227-4772 or visit www.spahouston.org.
