On Saturday, Feb. 9, during its final two, sold-out productions of The Wizard of Oz, the Stratford High Playhouse raised more than $2,000 for families in North Carolina and Tennessee. Recent tornadoes in those two states left many families homeless.
The famous Wizard of Oz production begins with a tornado striking main character Dorothy’s childhood home. The successful bucket fund-raising event is now being called “The Stratford High School Playhouse Give Back.” Many of the playhouse’s Wizard of Oz shows sold out, making the recent production a “huge success,” organizers said.
