Spring Branch Leadership Institute graduates first class
More than a dozen SBISD educators who completed the 2006-07 Spring Branch Leadership Institute were recognized July 23 by the district Board of Trustees. The one-year institute program is designed to help prepare district administrators and coordinators who aspire to be promoted to higher positions, such as principal. The institute’s first class was nominated by district principals or directors.

Those nominated for the institute attended monthly sessions, took part in a Leadership Retreat, completed special projects on their home campuses and performed monthly homework assignments.

The Board of Trustees commended the following participants as outstanding educational leaders: Dawn Cole, Memorial High; Mary Lou Davalos, Northbrook Middle; Cathy Erickson, Wilchester Elementary; Kaye Estrada, Spring Woods High; Alexia Greiner, Bunker Hill Elementary; Ray Griffin, Spring Shadows Elementary; Karin Grisdale, Stratford High; Paige Hershey, Athletics; Vicki Mathieu, Thornwood Elementary; David Parker, Memorial High; Neda Scanlan, Valley Oaks Elementary; Paul Suess, Northbrook High; Lance Stallworth, Spring Woods High; and Anabel Taylor, Spring Woods Middle.

In addition, Lisa Weir was named Memorial Middle principal while taking part in the institute program. SBISD Associate Superintendent for Administration & Personnel Margie Duffey introduced participants during the recently held Board recognition event. (7-24-07)
