Popular radio personality featured at Math/Science Literacy Summit
Dr. John Lienhard, a well-known University of Houston professor, best-selling author and regular commentator on Houston Public Radio (HPR) 88.7 FM will be the keynote speaker during SBISD’s first-ever Math/Science Literacy Summit. Dr. Lienhard is the author of the highly acclaimed book, Engines of our Ingenuity, which brings difficult science, math and engineering concepts to general audiences in an easy to understand and thoughtful format.
 
About 100 middle and high school teachers and other staff are expected to attend the Saturday meeting at Westchester Academy for International Studies, 901 Yorkchester. This four-hour, professional development meeting begins at 8 a.m. and will focus on literacy in math and science secondary classrooms.
