A special one-day Parent U “Mini U” session titled Helping Your Child Be a Great Writer Without Doing It For Him/Her will be led by SBISD teacher and author Mary Wheeler in two sessions – at noon and 7 p.m. – on Jan. 17 in the Board Room of the SBISD Administration Building, 955 Campbell Road. Parent U, SBISD’s first-ever community day of learning designed for parents and other interested community members, attracted about 300 people Oct. 13 to Spring Woods High School. The January “Mini U” session is being held in response to community interest in subjects ranging from student academics to parenting skills.
