Health Fitness Photo Contest results announced
Student and adult amateur photographers have been named top finishers in this year’s SBISD Health Fitness Photo Contest. Four Memorial High students won top honors in the “Exercise Your Healthy Options” contest. Annie Scavone won 1st place for a lacrosse game snapshot titled “Up at Dawn” and a $50 gift card donated by Best Buy. Other winners: Jessica Grenader, 2nd place, for “Game Face,” $25 Best Buy gift card; Leigh Dalio, 3rd place, for “I Flip for Health,” $25 Best Buy gift card; and Ashlyn Thompson, for a photo titled “Getting a Kick Out of Health.”
 
In the Teacher/Employee category, Jane Abshire of Hunters Creek Elementary won 1st place and a $40 gift card donated by Sam’s Club for a roller-skating photograph titled “Free Skate.” Other category winners: Joanne Thomas, Memorial Drive Elementary, 2nd place, for “The Winning Handoff, Sam’s Club $35 gift card; Liz Weaver, Rummel Creek Elementary, 3rd place, for “Ready to Go,” $25 Sam’s Club gift card.
 
Honorable mentions were awarded to SBISD staff members Ellen Ledgard of Wildcat Way School for Early Learning for “Quinn…Safe on Second,” and Judy Donie of Wilchester Elementary for a photograph titled “Gotta Start Clean.”
