Two Spring Branch ISD campuses will share $2,425 as a result of the March 28 ribbon-cutting festivities and open house held at the new Washington Mutual branch located at the corner of Long Point and Gessner. The Houston-based research and advocacy group Children at Risk will honor Memorial High School and Westchester Academy for International Studies as two of its Top 10 Area High Schools during a 10 a.m. Monday morning press conference at the southeast campus of Yes! Sixth-grade Memorial Middle School science teacher Paige Krekeler has been awarded one of 10 Earthwatch Institute fellowships and will join a team in Nova Scotia in April to analyze the impacts of climate change in North America. The 1989 Memorial High grad was chosen for the national program by Wells Fargo, the study sponsor. The Stratford High Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Fahey and Kate Moore, will perform March 22 at the 2008 National Band and Orchestra Festival at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
