March 24, 2007, in Plano, Texas, Susan Sisler, was named by the Texas Foreign Language Teacher Association, as German Teacher of the Year for the state. It's a much-deserved award for someone who has been at MHS for over 25 years, who is the foreign language department chair, former President of the American Association Teachers of German and very active in the Goethe Institute. Ms. Sisler does as much as possible to promote German studies. with student trips abroad and works diligently to keep classes interested and enthusiastic about their foreign language choice. She is being congratulated after the meeting by Janet L. Smith, District Lead Teacher for Foreign Languages.
